Blogging Task on Laura Mulvey.



Laura Mulvey's theory on representation includes the 'Male Gaze'. The Male Gaze is a theory that women in music videos are represented in certain ways to attract the males attention, the women are dismembered they are the ones being looked at and the males are the ones whom are looking, it is shown in many music videos, there are many close up on the women body and faces to attract the male viewers attention.

Here is a video that supports the theory of the Male Gaze.


This video has a variety of shots that support the idea of the male gaze. This method is usually used to keep the viewed attracted to the video and to come back and watch it again rather than once, this then promotes the artist even more.
