Previous Student Video Review

This video had good use of narrative and structure. The camera was used to great effect, with different angles and shots. Good use of camerawork and movement keeps the viewer interested and at the edge of their seat. This is also achieved through good editing, with a range of fast and slow shots, and change of shots in time with the beat of the music.

In terms of what we as an audience feel, we are very much constantly looked at by the artist. This relates to and reinforces Andrew Goodwin's theory. The video has been built around the song, the artist is both the narrator and the main character in the video and the singer is constantly looking directly at the camera, breaking the fourth wall. However this effectively makes the audience part of the video, which helps maintain their attention.

This video is self-governing and has little connection between the lyrics and the video, therefore making it a disjuncture video.
